Local Angler Catches Record Grass Carp in Neighborhood Pond
A 26-year-old angler has caught a massive grass carp in his local neighborhood pond, setting a new world record in the 30-pound line class division. The fish weighed 71.8 pounds and measured 48 inches long with a 34-inch girth. The angler used a homemade concoction of ground chum and a soft plastic corn-kernel imitation to catch the giant carp. The record-breaking catch has been verified by the International Game Fish Association and is now recognized as the third largest grass carp of any category in the IGFA record book.
