Yakima River Restoration Project
A recent construction project removed a causeway that was blocking the natural flow of the Yakima River, allowing salmon and steelhead to migrate more easily to their spawning grounds. The project, funded by NOAA Fisheries, aims to improve access to over 1,500 miles of tributary spawning and rearing habitat and support the Yakama Nation's fishing rights.
